Each drawing in this book is a mantage of two or more elements from the story, their purpose is to give readers a feel for the time, place, and characters, rather than to represent a specific scene in the story.
I'm pleased to write that I enjoy reading de Camp's historical novels as much as I enoy reading his SF and fantasy works. He was one of the writers who made the Golden Age of Science Fiction, the Golden Age.
